Berrocal Mini Cristina

Shiny

In a fit of retail therapy in early 2025 I bought this Mini Cristina from a French collector on eBay. Other than a bent foot it’s in almost pristine condition. It’s quite pleasant to hold, and the nickel plating makes it much more durable and forgiving than the Goliath, which you have to handle with gloves lest you leave a fingerprint.

It comes with a nicely produced book with assembly instructions and many pictures of Berrocal and his fiance, Cristina Blais. There’s a clipping from a French magazine article stuck in the book, which the seller says was there when they acquired the piece.

I’m delighted to have this sculpture after almost fifty years.
